The Brief
The Tobins wanted a functioning garden office that could double as a relaxing summer house, but that allowed the couple to continue their hobbies as a keen gardener (her) and an electric guitarist (him).

Our Clients

Nick Tobin:    Nick is a civil engineer for National Grid and after increasing the hours he worked from home, he needed a space where he could focus, away from the hustle and bustle of home life. He also wanted somewhere he could perfect his hobby as an electric guitarist without being disturbed, or disturbing.

Margaret Tobin:    A keen gardener, Margaret’s 40 year old timber garage was in dire need of an update and she wanted a place to relax after a long day cultivating her garden.

The Outcome

To create the space the old garage was demolished, complete with wasps nest removal, and the new summer house come garden office replaced the footprint of the old building exactly.

We fitted a lovely shed at one end to accommodate all the tools a gardener might dream of and incorporated a kitchenette into Nick’s home office.

The whole outfit was sound insulated so now Nick can play as much electric guitar while Margaret enjoys the peace and quiet of the garden she’s cultivated.
